As you look through the history of Star Trek, we see the introduction of technologies that, at the time, boggled the mind and made the average person think it truly was fantasy.
Star Trek’s communicators are today’s cell phones. Handheld computers from Star Trek: The Next Generation are today’s tablets. Star Trek officers asked the computer for information…and the computer answered back. We’re seeing this now with Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
Writers “fantasize” about what life would be like and as technology advances, what was once in their minds are becoming everyday conveniences and expectations.
